On the eighth floor of the hotel is Grillið, a restaurant that for almost half
a century has been a symbol of a perfect night in Reykjavík. The reason is

Awarded master chefs

The Head Chef, Bjarni Gunnar Kristinsson has been a member of the Icelandic
culinary team since the year 2000 and was the team’s captain at the IKA
Culinary Olympics in Erfurt, in 2008, where the team won both gold and silver
medals. During his time with the team he has won awards in competitions all
around the world. Þráinn Freyr Vigfússon, Sous Chef, won the Icelandic chef of
the year competition in 2007 and a year after he joined the Icelandic culinary
team. Þráinn competes for Iceland in the Bocuse d’Or final competition in Lyon,
in January 2011.
The staff at Grillið assigns great importance to providing quality service to
each customer. Grillið welcomes groups of all sizes and emphasizes on always
making the group’s dining experience unforgettable. Grillið also offers promotional
meetings and lunch meetings tailor-made to the groups’ wishes.
